Wayne Batten

Wayne has come far since learning the coaching ropes from fellow south coaster and veteran boxing trainer Ronnie Davies.

Situated just 200 yards from St Mary’s football ground in Southampton, Batten’s Boxing is a fully equipped facility set over two storeys, complete with a balcony overlooking the ring. A haven for boxers and gym goers alike.

Batten’s gym plays host to a crop of talented fighters. Wayne has twenty years of industry experience, and has trained multiple champions across his career, and most notably played a vital part in Ryan ‘Piranha’ Garner’s (18-0) career. Garner was Batten’s original star pupil from his current crop. Ryan has recently won the British, Commonwealth, European, and WBC International Super-Featherweight titles.

Wayne is incredibly proud of his work within the Southampton community. He understands the importance of working with everyone and anyone, including underprivileged children and young offenders, to help keep them safe and focused. He has also dedicated time to working alongside the Southampton City Council.
